Went to visit my son over the Fourth of July this year in Howard Beach and had a great time as usual. Started out a little rough though as when I arrived, his electricity went out (hmmm…some big celebrity was getting married and I could be wrong, but IMO all the electricity on the grid was diverted to Manhattan to make sure MSG was lit up! Haha!). So, change of plans…we got rooms at a hotel in Manhattan for a few days until the electricity came back on and it couldn’t have worked out better! The fireworks over the Hudson were magnificent! When we went back to his place in Howard Beach on the A train we were going to get some New Park pizza and watch HOTD on my last night there. Of all things, his car didn’t start, so we nixed New Park and got pizza delivery. Wasn’t quite as good as New Park, but it hit the spot! Great times and memories made!
